Recently a reader sent us a great infographic showcasing the evolution of slogans. It contains some fun trivia as well as lessons for today's marketers.
For example, did you know …
- In 1900, Coca-Cola's slogan was “For headache and exhaustion, drink Coca-Cola”
- In 1903, Pepsi's slogan was “Exhilarating, Invigorating, Aids Digestion”
- Maxwell House has used the same slogan, “Good to the last drop,” for 97 years
- FedEx has had six different slogans since 1978; the current “The world on time” was introduced in 2009
- According to legend, Nike's “Just do it” motto was inspired by a death-row inmate's final words
