Holiday greetings — or not?
It all began in London, where Sir Henry Cole commissioned the first Christmas card in 1843.
And the holiday card etiquette question of reciprocating was born. I wonder if the recipients of Sir Henry's cards thought, “Oh, no! And we didn't send him one!”
Today, according to the Greeting Card Association, Americans send 1.6 billion holiday cards annually–and that doesn't include ecards.
