Tell us about your book:

Deep Waters: Lift Your Gaze refocuses your perspective on God who provides all the necessary peace, hope, and grace to withstand even the darkest storms. What better time to prepare for a trial than before you are immersed in one? Trials are a part of life—there is no escaping them and unfortunately, they don't come with expiration dates. Whether you are traversing through an intense time of suffering or are basking in the peaceful waters of a reprieve, this book will use the healing salve from God’s word to heal you, change your heart, and give you peace.

God desires to have you run to him and drop all your burdens at his feet. He will pick up the pieces, wrap His loving arms around you, and lift your gaze. When our is focus on God rather than on our trials, we realize He is more powerful than our pain.

Each faith-filled chapter includes:

  • Personal anecdotes on suffering
  • Biblical, yet relatable examples of God’s faithfulness
  • Encouraging prophetic poems to remind us that God sees our pain
  • Intercessory prayers to reassure us of God’s fathomless love
  • Application questions to remind us that God cares for us
  • Prayer journal to record our petitions and draw us closer to God

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 ESV). Deep Waters: Lift Your Gaze leads us to the source of all comfort and rest, the author and perfecter of our faith, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Deep Waters: Lift Your Gaze by Kim M. Clark (cover)What inspired you to write your book?

When my family was walking through a difficult time with one of our children, the Lord had me do two things I had abhorred: running and writing. As I ran many miles training for two marathons, God spoke sweet words of comfort to me and firmly pressed on my spirit to write them down and publish my book.

What are the key takeaways readers will get from your book?

  1. God loves you, no matter the circumstances
  2. God will never leave you, nor forsake you, even in the depth of your suffering
  3. Focus on God, not your trials, for whatever you focus on gets bigger
  4. Jesus Christ paid the complete price for you to boldly come to God’s throne to receive comfort until this storm passes
  5. Lift Your Gaze to the author and perfecter of your faith—God’s got this and you

What else would you like readers to know about you and your book?

At the beginning of this year, I felt led by the Lord to start a non-profit, Lift Your Gaze, to bring my message of hope into the prison system. Recently, I received a grant to provide each attendee at the Correctional Ministries and Chaplains Association at the Billy Graham Center, Wheaton College, a copy of my book for their facility. As a result, I have received orders for hundreds of my books from correctional facilities across the nation. I’m now in the process of fundraising to fulfill these orders for inmates to receive hope and a heart change. If anyone feels led to join my initiative to provide help in the prison systems, please go to my website www.liftyourgaze.org to volunteer and/or provide tax-deductible donations.

Where can readers get your book?

On my website www.kimmclark, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, BAM, and wherever fine books are sold.

What other books have you published?

I’m getting ready to publish my second book, a supporting 30-day devotional to Deep Waters: Lift Your Gaze.
