Tell us about your book:

Licky the Lizard is a story sharing how we don’t need to be afraid of lizards because God created us and God created the lizards.

What inspired you to write your book?

My own fear of lizards inspired me to write this story. I wanted our grandson, who is now two years old, to know God’s creations are special. We can learn about lizards and other creations and show respect to them.

One of the key takeaways from the book is that God loves all of us. We are His creations.

What else would you like readers to know about you and your book?

I was afraid of lizards until I learned more about them. My husband and I moved from Virginia to South Carolina in 2017. We have more lizards here in South Carolina.

I have a story in the compilation Heaven Sightings. I tell about my mother and her near-death experience.

Her passions are helping in community and church. Melissa is an elder, deacon and Stephen Minister.
