If you only have time for one business seminar this year, go to a Business Battleground event.
Like many business owners, I’ve been to countless business seminars, ranging from valuable to forgettable. My work as a ghostwriter has taken me behind the scenes of the information product industry, so I know what's involved in staging seminar events.
When I heard about The Business Battleground (and I honestly can’t remember how), I was intrigued, but not sure I wanted to take the time to go because I'm on a deadline to finish the second edition of Finding Joy in the Morning. I thought this might be just some new window dressing on an old business model.
I was wrong.
Founded by Rollan Roberts and Peter Lowe, The Business Battleground is an inspiring new approach to business seminars. They present solid, practical, ready-to-implement information for creating a successful God-based business.
Their biographies are on The Business Battleground website, but here’s a brief introduction to Roberts and Lowe:
Rollan Roberts is an internationally-know businessperson, author and television personality. He’s created some of the fastest-growing companies in America. Peter Lowe is the founder of Get Motivated Success Seminars, which filled NBA-sized arenas. He has shared the stage with former Presidents Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Regan George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and other notables including Colin Powell, Margaret Thatcher, Zig Ziglar and more.
The Business Battleground seminars are half-day programs, so you’re not away from your business for an extended period. Rollan Roberts and Peter Lowe speak at each one. Other speakers vary by location.
Some highlights from the Orlando event:
Peter Lowe talked about the importance of physiology (posture, breathing patterns, eye patterns) and how your physiology leads your faith. He said:
“If you want abundant life, pay abundant attention to God.” – Peter Lowe
Jack Alan Levine spoke about the impact of addiction on business, offered some practical tips on dealing with employees who are struggling with the disease of addiction and gave every attendee a copy of his book, My Addict, Your Addict. He said:
“You can’t invite Satan in, think you can hang out and play with him, then tell him to leave.” – Jack Alan Levine
Customer service expert Dennis Snow, author of Lessons from the Mouse, explained the process of service mapping, the importance of looking at everything through the eyes of the customer and more.
Rollan Roberts shared the four seasons of the God’s business CEO. Within that discussion, he explained that a God’s business CEO has to learn to flee certain things and he explained what those things are: the wrong influences, vices of the flesh, distractions, and thoughts of revenge, bitterness and doubt.
The message of The Business Battleground is to bring the power of God into businesses for elevated success. Jerry and I created our company on the foundation of our faith. While we have chosen to keep it small, we will still be able to use a great deal of what I learned at this seminar in our business and personal lives.
Visit thebusinessbattleground.com, check out the schedule and attend an event as soon as you can.
Disclosure: I paid the full price attend the seminar. I was not paid to write this review and I will not be compensated if you attend one of The Business Battleground events.
Note: I took the photos on this blog with my cell phone and Jerry is cringing at the quality.
