Some brief edited excerpts of the interview transcript:

Mike Gilland: I had the privilege of reading this book, and it is a really well-done piece.

Jacquelyn Lynn: It’s a short book. It takes less than a half an hour for most people to read. I wanted this to be something that somebody could read quickly and know what to do to take the challenge and be anger free for a week.

Mike Gilland: You were talking earlier about things that go on deep underneath the surface, things that need to be recognized, that we need to deal with.

Jacquelyn Lynn: Which goes back to my message that this is not about anger management. I did not want to teach you not to punch a hole in the wall. I want to teach you not to want to punch a hole in the wall.

Mike Gilland: It’s better to deal with [anger] in the very beginning of feeling it, recognizing what’s happening, and putting into place the plan that you can work out. And the Bible helps us with all of that.

Jacquelyn Lynn: There are so many references to anger in the Bible that I think God is telling us, “This is important to me, my children, this is important. And it’s going to be an issue you’re going to have to deal with. And that’s why I have told you over and over, don’t get angry. Don’t let anger lead you into sin because it can.”

Mike Gilland: And if we do get angry, the Bible teaches us to not let the sun set on that anger.
